Lochaber is a mecca for all kinds of watersports activities.
Diving, sailing and yacht cruising are all active sports in Loch
Lochy, Loch Linnhe, Loch Leven, in the Sound of Mull and the Atlantic
Ocean on Lochaber's western coastline. Cruising offshore around
the Small Isles and the Isle of Skye is guaranteed to a memorable
holiday.
In Fort William, The Underwater Centre offers both commercial diving
courses and recreational sports diving for those wanting to experience
the clear waters of Loch Linnhe.
The Caledonian Canal offers boat charters and canal cruising holidays,
and is the main inland navigation route through the Highlands to
Inverness and the North Sea.
Sea kayaking and river paddling are very active sports in the area
with some specialist local businesses offering "come and try" sessions
and instruction and gear hire.
