Walking in Lochaber
Walking is good for the heart - in more ways than one. Walking costs almost nothing to do, yet gives so much benefit. Walking provides an opportunity to "get away" from things for a short while or a whole day. Relax, enjoy the free unpolluted air, listen to the wind whispering in the trees or the stream chuckling to itself as it passes by. Spot a buzzard or an eagle.

Lochaber is one huge paradise for walkers. There are literally hundreds of miles (or kilometres) of hillsides, glens, beaches, mountain paths and passes. There are traditional old military roads with stories to tell; forest walks; canal side walks and walks which lead to bothies. Locally in Fort William there are nice short walks around Cow Hill which also offer great views.

A database of Walking in Lochaber is currently being developed, so please excuse us while we design and build the system. Walking in Lochaber will have the facility for walkers to add walks to the database using pre-defined variables.

In the meantime we will be providing PDFs of printed documents plus our own page guides and hopefully some of these will be offered by walkers themselves. So if you are a regular walker in Lochaber and have a favourite walk, please tell us about it.
