The Small Isles or the Inner Hebrides as they are also known
lie 10 - 15 miles off Lochaber's west coast in the Sea of the Hebrides.
Eigg and Muck are the nearest - approximately 10 miles from Arisaig,
with Rhum and Canna being further out to sea. The populations of
each island is very low - less than 50 people is some cases. Each
island has it's own beauty and attraction and definitely worth
a visit if you have time, or want to make time.
There's a regular ferry service operated from Arisaig and Mallaig. It's
possible to rent a holiday home or take part in work organised
by Scottish Natural Heritage and others.
