One of the BBCs most popular light drama programmes is Monarch
of the Glen - a story about the people of ficticious "Glen
Bogle" but filmed on location in a real Highland home and estate
on the
shore
of Loch
Laggan.
Ardverikie Estate is a working Highland Estate and a short drive
from Fort William and Spean Bridge along the shore of Loch Laggan.
The distictive building which is a main set in the BBC programme,
can be seen on the far shore of the loch. Loch Laggan is a beautiful
loch with mountains all around.
People travelling from Aviemore and Perth can drive down the road
which follows Loch Laggan to Roy Bridge.
Craig Meaghie - a popular climbing area for mountaineers is also
in the area.
