Fort William's 2nd Annual High Street Christmas Festival looks set to pull everyone's cracker this year! Following the success of the 2005 event led by The Fort William Retail Association, plans are now in place for this year's Festival on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th December 6pm to 9pm including another High Street late night shopping experience with our shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants offering in-store activities such as whisky sampling, face painting, hand and head massages, mince pies, mulled wine, story telling, music and general Christmas goodwill.

MORE is the keyword for this year's Festival - more music, more craft stalls, more hot food and Christmas food stalls, more entertainment both on and off the street, more processions, more shopping and more festivities than before will leave visitors no doubt that this annual event seems set to become one of the biggest and best Christmas Festivals in the Highlands.

Santa and his Reindeer will be here on Friday night including another procession the full length of the High Street and a Santa's Grotto with gifts for the wee ones. Don't miss the procession of little angels on Thursday night either when the Lochaber Primary Schools come together and sing carols up and down the High Street. We're hoping that you'll all join in - Christmas Carol sheets will be available so don't be shy. When you're not singing, there'll be wonderful live music performances again from the Lochaber Community Wind Band and the Lochaber Pipe Band join the festivities this year too together with a variety of smaller groups of musicians, schools and buskers playing up and down the High Street including Lochaber Music School Hand Bell Ringers, Banavie Primary School and Glencoe Primary School Choirs along with the wonderful TePooka Street Entertainers and Fire Show.

Look out for the Scrooges Den by the Fired-Art Team on Tour and the Horse and Cart rides. On Saturday there will be an Art Auction at 1.30pm and much more Saturday entertainment.... don't miss it!!! Hopefully the weather to be kind to us again this year. There is so much entertainment and activities packed into the Festival this year that it's been extended into the Saturday.
